BC Greenhouse Builders Limited, North America’s leading builder of hobby and estate greenhouses, is proud to announce the recent article "Backyard Greenhouses are Growing on Homeowners" by Melissa Feldman. The publication comes at a great time while we are celebrating our 70th anniversary. This article featured two of our greenhouses and greenhouse customers.
Previously, I put out a request for stories and projects that helped to shape the BC Greenhouse that we are today. Rick visited my office and mentioned the WindSong Cohousing project. I had never heard of this project and ironically Cody found newspaper articles and stories about WindSong and left them on my desk this morning. I love how the universe works.
BC Greenhouses has been working with this glazing product for a few years. It was so impressive in terms of its energy efficiency that we built a new aluminum framing system to accommodate the wider profile. For example, a typical single glass greenhouse glazing is 3mm in thickness whereas the Fivewall polycarbonate is an impressive 16mm.
We really do build greenhouses in any custom color! This periwinkle greenhouse was shipped to Oregon and the picture are from during that installation process. Would you pick a color as wild as this one? Or something more classic?
One of our favourite BC Greenhouse Builders projects! This Greenhouse that we built and went on sight to install is a 17x46 custom greenhouse for a public school in Brooklyn (PS216) as part of The Edible Schoolyard Project. The greenhouse is the heart of the classroom whereby the students will be gardening in a kitchen classroom setting that provides a hands-on environment for students in which to apply skills learned in traditional math, science and humanities classes.
