Your Greenhouse Has More Potential Than You Think

Learning to get the most from a greenhouse takes time. The right soil blend, the ideal watering rhythm, when to propagate, how to stage your space, these are the kinds of things most gardeners figure out slowly, through seasons of trial and error.

BC Greenhouse Builders' Greenhouse Gardening School was built to change that.

Exclusively available only to BC Greenhouse customers, this course gives you a clear, practical foundation,  taught by two gardeners who have spent years growing, experimenting, and sharing what actually works. Whether your greenhouse is brand new or has been part of your backyard for years, the school helps you grow with more confidence, more intention, and more results from every season.

What Is the Greenhouse Gardening School?

Focus on the journey: Think of the Greenhouse Gardening School as your growing companion; there when you need it, whether you are setting up your space for the first time or looking to get more out of a greenhouse you have had for years. Each module builds on the last, taking you from the basics of greenhouse growing all the way through to propagation, plant care, and beyond. And because real BC Greenhouse customer gardens are featured throughout, you will see exactly how these ideas come to life in backyards just like yours.

Who Are Your Instructors?

Jordan Mara is the founder of Mind & Soil, a gardening platform and YouTube channel with over 250,000 subscribers. A gardener and educator growing in Zone 6, Jordan has run hundreds of real-world experiments on everything from pruning and plant spacing to soil building and seed depth,  and turned those insights into clear, practical guidance that greenhouse growers can apply right away. His calm, curiosity-driven teaching style makes even complex growing concepts feel approachable and achievable.

Donna Balzer is a horticulturalist, author, and speaker who has gardened across Zones 3 to 7 in Western Canada and has owned several BC Greenhouses over the years. You may recognize her from her work hosting the HGTV series Bugs & Blooms. Donna has spent decades helping gardeners grow through hands-on consulting, media work, and practical teaching,  with a focus on climate-smart strategies for food gardening, soil health, and season extension.

What Will You Learn?

The school is organized into seven modules:

1. What Makes Greenhouse Gardening Different? Understand the real benefits of a controlled growing environment and how a greenhouse gives you flexibility in your garden schedule that outdoor growing simply cannot.

2. Greenhouse Staging Learn how to design and lay out your greenhouse for maximum productivity, including how to work with pots, shelves, raised beds, hanging baskets, and in-ground growing, plus the accessories worth having from the start.

3. Choosing What to Grow Plan your greenhouse harvest with confidence. Explore the difference between cool, warm, and hot-house growing, and discover which edibles, plants, and tropicals thrive in a greenhouse environment.

4. Plant Care Dig into the essentials: soil, fertilizer, watering, and climate management. These are the fundamentals that separate a productive greenhouse from a struggling one.

5. Propagation Start more plants for less. This module covers seed starting, seed types, transplanting seedlings, and growing cuttings inside your greenhouse, skills that will save you money and expand what you can grow every season.

6. Visiting Our Customers' Gardens See real BC Greenhouse owners in action. These garden visits bring the course to life and show you what is possible when everything comes together.

7. BCG Resources Everything you need to keep growing,  resources, guides, and support from the BC Greenhouse Builders team.
